Do you take insurance?
Creative Beginnings offers all the necessary paperwork for you to easily submit your downloadable invoices to your insurance company for out of network benefits.
Is a physician referral required?
A physician’s referral is not required by Creative Beginnings to begin OT. If you plan to submit your bill for out of network coverage, check with your insurance benefits specialist to learn if a physician referral is needed.
Good Faith Estimate:
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

What is occupational therapy (OT)?
Occupational therapy is a healthcare profession that focuses on helping people of all ages participate in meaningful activities and everyday tasks.
What conditions or challenges does occupational therapy address?
OT can help individuals with a wide range of conditions, including developmental delays, sensory processing disorder, physical disabilities, neurological disorders, and mental health conditions.
Who can benefit from occupational therapy?
Anyone experiencing difficulties performing everyday tasks due to physical, cognitive, emotional, or developmental challenges may benefit from OT; this includes children, adults, and older adults.
How long does occupational therapy typically last?
The duration of occupational therapy varies depending on the individual's needs, goals, implementation of the home program, unique sensory system, and progress.
What are primitive reflexes?
Primitive reflexes are present at birth as movements exhibited in response to specific stimuli. These reflexes are frequently referred to as developmental milestones. If these reflexes do not integrate properly, the nervous systems immaturity influences overall development and function. Assessment of your child's reflexes are a part of Creative Beginnings comprehensive evaluation.
What’s an example of a primitive reflex?
Rooting Reflex: When a baby’s cheek is touched or stroked, they will turn their head toward the stimulus and open their mouth, as if searching for a nipple to suckle.
What is executive function?
Executive function refers to a set of cognitive processes that enable individuals to plan, organize, prioritize, pay attention, regulate emotions, problem-solve, and self-monitor in order to achieve goals and adapt to changing situations effectively. Essentially, executive function skills help individuals manage themselves and their resources to accomplish tasks and navigate daily life.
Can occupational therapy help with autism?
Yes, OT can be beneficial for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by addressing sensory processing challenges, developing social skills, improving communication skills, promoting independence in daily activities, and supporting participation in school, work, and community life.

About Telehealth
We launched our telehealth program in 2024 to expand our services to families that were battling traffic, families that lived in rural areas, and clients that responded best to therapy from the comfort of home. We are able to provide teletherapy for new evaluations, as well as for ongoing services.
What is telehealth?
Telehealth is a model of providing health care services via video! Our HIPAA compliant platform allows us to meet with you and/or your child easily from your phone, tablet or computer!
How much are services?
Telehealth services are billed at the same rate as in-person services. Most major health insurance plans cover telehealth during your superbill reimbursement processing.
Can I benefit from telehealth?
Therapy clinics across the country are using telehealth to address challenges with sensory processing, motor skills, self-care, communication, handwriting, executive function skills, visual motor/visual perceptual skills, and so much more! Clients that have limited access to services, limited transportation options, or those who prefer to receive services in their home can benefit.
How do I make a telehealth appointment?
How do I log on?
You will receive appointment reminders from IntakeQ, our electronic medical record platform. You can join your Telehealth therapy session through your internet browser.
What will I need?
- A laptop or tablet with webcam; if using a smartphone, please ensure there is a stable way to hold the phone in place (phone stand, pop-socket, tripod, etc.).
- Login a few minutes early to confirm a stable wireless connection.
- Close all extra browser tabs before the session.
How should I prepare?
We love using the materials you already have at home! Your therapist will guide you if specific items are needed. Other helpful tips:
- Have a clear space where both you and your child can be visible to the clinician.
- Be prepared to move the device as needed throughout the session.
- For table work, consider using headphones.
- Bring a few of your child’s favorite toys to help build rapport through play.
- Be ready to support your child — many families find they gain more confidence in supporting their child through telehealth.
What will my first session look like?
We’ll start with reviewing your concerns and making a plan for the visit. There will be time at the end for questions, a summary of findings, and next steps. Our assessment may continue into the next session and will include understanding your space, materials, and interests. No need to worry about messes or siblings — we are guests in your home and we respect that!
I’m traveling out of state. Can I still have my telehealth appointment?
Telehealth regulations require therapists to be licensed in the state where the client is located. If you'll be in a state other than Washington at the time of your appointment, we kindly ask that you reschedule.
